ZWT & the MSB are a London based fluid ensemble, that curate a soulful, bluesy, indie sound with psychedelic folk elements.

"As dreamy as ever, focused as ever"

- InPop

Born in Lewisham, ZWT performed as a solo acoustic artist for many years. While recording their first EP, 'Between Terrains', they brought in guitarist Matthew Cottee to play on one of the tracks. Working collaboratively inspired ZWT to invite Eloise Lockyer and Jake Morris to join on piano and bass.

This first iteration of the 'Makeshift Band' performed their debut gig at The Signal in Forest Hill in 2019.

"ZWT & the MSB bring a beautiful intimacy!"

- Underground Sound

Following a sad farwell to Jake, the MSB grew to contain Jo Cottee, Max Gallant and Alice Brightman, on saxophone, bass and harp; and on occation trumpeter Sarah Woolfenden. The rotating line-up of musicians produces a unqiue sound for every gig. With an emphasis on collaboration and expression, new members are encouraged to add their own flavours to the music, creating an organic and shifting sound to surround ZWT.
